Course Description

This course is part of the OSH Center 30-Hour Safety Training Program, and describes the hazards of electrical work and basic approaches for controlling those hazards. It also provides a basic understanding of best practices and requirements under OSH Center standards for general industry, construction, and maritime sectors, which reference the NFPA 70E.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, you should be able to:

LO 1.2.2 Describe the use of ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs).
LO 1.2.3 Describe the minimum approach distances when working with high voltage.
LO 1.3.1 Discuss what it means to evaluate risk and control electrical hazards.
LO 1.3.2 Identify training requirements for those working with electrical circuits.
