Description

Doctors, nurses, and staff working in a hospital emergency department (ED) face a wide range of risks. The ED is open to anyone seeking care, including potentially violent individuals, patients under the influence of drugs, and others in crisis.

Because many patients have not yet been stabilized and medical care is provided at a rapid pace, the likelihood of accidents and injuries is higher in the emergency department than in some other healthcare settings.

This course is designed specifically for employees working in the emergency room to help them recognize hazards and protect themselves on the job.
