ANSI Z490.1-2016: Instructor Qualifications
According to ANSI Z490.1-2016, trainers responsible for safety instruction must be competent in developing, delivering, and managing all aspects of a safety training program.
To achieve competency, trainers should possess the necessary technical knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) in the topics they teach. These can be developed through formal training, continuing education, professional certification, and practical on-the-job experience.
A competent and qualified trainer should be able to:

- Apply adult learning principles relevant to the audience and training objectives.
Trainer competency should be properly documented through course completion certificates, professional licenses, work experience records, and other supporting materials.
