Description

This is the second course in a ten-course series that comprises the 40-hour HAZWOPER for General Site Workers certificate program, in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

This course focuses on HAZWOPER requirements for safety and health programs, planning and organization, and training.

OSHA Requirements

The 40-hour HAZWOPER program consists of two phases:

  1. 40 hours of off-site instruction – provided via OSHAcademy online training
  2. 3 days of worksite-specific, hands-on practice – conducted at the job site by the employer

Online training fulfills the first phase, while the employer is responsible for the second phase.

Time Requirement

OSHA Standard 1910.120 requires students to complete 40 hours of off-site training. OSHAcademy divides this into ten courses, each with a minimum time requirement that must be met before students can access the course exam.

  • This course requires a minimum of 4 hours.
  • Students can monitor their progress using the timer located at the top-left corner of each page.

IACET Accreditation

OSHA Center is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and offers IACET CEUs for courses meeting ANSI/IACET standards. IACET is globally recognized for promoting quality in continuing education and training.

Free Access

Students have free access to all training materials, including knowledge checks and course activities. Documentation of training—such as exam scores, certificates, and transcripts—is available through the purchase of a certificate package.
