This is the fourth course in a ten-part series that makes up the 40-hour HAZWOPER Training Program for General Site Workers, developed in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.
This course focuses on the general requirements for hazard communication (HazCom) across all industries. It covers essential topics such as workplace hazard analysis and Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) training requirements. The information presented in this course will help participants understand and comply with OSHA’s HAZWOPER Standard, 29 CFR 1910.120(p)(2).
OSHA Requirements
The 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is completed in two distinct phases:
- 40 hours of off-site instruction (theoretical learning)
- 3 days of worksite-specific, hands-on field practice
OSH Center online training fulfills the first phase of this requirement. Employers are responsible for ensuring the completion of three days of field-specific practical training under qualified supervision.
Time Requirement
According to OSHA Standard 1910.120, students must complete 40 hours of off-site instruction as part of the overall program.
To meet this requirement, OSHAcademy has divided the 40-hour HAZWOPER training into ten individual courses.
Each course includes a minimum time requirement, which must be completed before students can access the final exam for that module.
- Minimum time requirement for this course: 4 hours
