Introduction

Description

This is the fourth course in a ten-part series that makes up the 40-hour HAZWOPER Training Program for General Site Workers, in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

This course focuses on the general requirements for hazard communication in all industries, including analyzing workplace hazards and understanding Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) training requirements. The information provided will help students comply with the OSHA HAZWOPER Standard, 29 CFR 1910.120(p)(2).

OSHA Requirements

The 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is completed in two phases:

  1. 40 hours of off-site instruction
  2. 3 days of worksite-specific, hands-on field practice

OSHA Center online training fulfills the first phase of this requirement. Employers are responsible for providing the three days of field-specific, hands-on training.

Time Requirement

According to OSHA Standard 1910.120, students must complete 40 hours of off-site instruction as part of this program. OSHAcademy has divided the 40-hour program into ten separate courses.

Each course has a minimum time requirement that must be met before students gain access to the final course exam.
