Description

This is the fifth course in a ten-course series that makes up the 40-hour HAZWOPER for General Site Workers Certificate Program, in compliance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

This course focuses on the three phases of site characterization, hazard identification, air monitoring, and general monitoring practices. Through this training, you will gain the knowledge needed to assess hazardous waste sites safely and effectively.

OSHA Requirements

It’s important to understand that the 40-hour HAZWOPER program is a two-phase process:

  1. 40 hours of off-site instruction
  2. 3 days of worksite-specific, hands-on practice in the field

OSH Center online training fulfills the first phase of this requirement.
Your employer is responsible for providing the three days of field-based practical training to complete the certification process.

Time Requirement

According to OSHA Standard 1910.120, students must complete 40 hours of off-site training as part of the HAZWOPER program.

To help you meet this requirement, OSHAcademy has divided the program into ten courses. Each course has a minimum time requirement, which must be met before you can access and complete the final course exam.

  • Minimum time requirement for this course: 4 hours
You can track your progress using the timer located in the top-left corner of each course page.

IACET Accreditation

OSHA Center is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and offers IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for courses that meet ANSI/IACET standards.

IACET is globally recognized for promoting excellence and quality in continuing education and training programs.
