This is the fifth course in a ten-course series comprising the 40-hour HAZWOPER for General Site Workers Certificate Program, in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.
This course focuses on the three phases of site characterization, hazard identification, air monitoring, and general monitoring practices. These topics are essential for ensuring worker safety and compliance during hazardous waste operations.
OSHA Requirements
It’s important to understand that the 40-hour HAZWOPER program is a two-phase process:
- 40 hours of off-site instruction
- 3 days of worksite-specific, hands-on field practice
OSHAcademy’s online training fulfills the first phase of this process. Employers are responsible for providing the three days of site-specific, hands-on training in the field.
Time Requirement
Under OSHA Standard 1910.120, students are required to complete 40 hours of off-site training as part of this program.
To meet this requirement, OSHAcademy has divided the training into ten courses. Each course includes a minimum time requirement that must be met before students can access the final exam.
- Minimum time requirement for this course: 4 hours
You can track your progress using the timer located in the top-left corner of each course page.
