Description

This is the eighth course in a ten-part series that comprises the 40-hour HAZWOPER training program for General Site Workers, in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

This course addresses the fundamentals of confined spaces, including atmospheric and non-atmospheric hazards, methods for controlling confined space risks, and the training requirements for working safely in these environments. It covers the core requirements of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.146 regarding permit-required confined spaces.

OSHA Requirements

The 40-hour HAZWOPER program is completed in two stages:

  • 40 hours of off-site instructional training
  • Three days of hands-on, site-specific practice in the field

The online portion provided by OSH Center fulfills the off-site instruction requirement. Employers are responsible for providing the three days of supervised, worksite-specific practice.

Time Requirement

Per OSHA Standard 1910.120, participants must complete 40 hours of off-site training. OSH Center breaks this requirement into ten individual courses, each with a minimum completion time that must be met before the course exam becomes available.

This course has a minimum required duration of 4 hours. A timer is displayed in the upper-left corner of each page to help you track your progress.

IACET Accreditation

OSH Center is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and provides IACET CEUs for courses that meet ANSI/IACET standards. IACET accreditation is recognized internationally as a mark of high-quality continuing education and training.

Free Access

As a student with OSH Center, you have complimentary access to all course content, including knowledge checks and activities. Documentation of your training—such as exam results, certificates, and transcripts—can be obtained by purchasing a certificate package.

Important Information

Certificates for individual HAZWOPER courses cannot be purchased separately. To receive certification for the HAZWOPER modules, you must purchase the complete 40-hour HAZWOPER program package.
