Description

This is the ninth course in a ten-part series forming the 40-hour HAZWOPER training program for General Site Workers, in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

This course focuses on common construction-related hazards and the corresponding training requirements. Key topics include scaffold safety, slips, trips, and falls, ladders and stairways, electrical safety, excavation and trenching, cranes and rigging, and the safe operation of powered industrial trucks and heavy equipment.

OSHA Requirements

The 40-hour HAZWOPER program consists of two main phases:

  • 40 hours of off-site instructional training
  • Three days of supervised, site-specific hands-on practice

Training provided through OSH Center fulfills the off-site instruction portion. Employers are responsible for ensuring the three days of on-site, hands-on training are completed.

Time Requirement

Per OSHA Standard 1910.120, participants must complete 40 hours of off-site training. OSH Center has broken this program into ten individual courses, each with a minimum required duration that must be met before the course exam becomes available.

This course requires a minimum of 5 hours to complete. A timer located in the upper-left corner of each page helps students track their progress.

IACET Accreditation

OSH Center is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and provides IACET CEUs for courses that meet ANSI/IACET standards. IACET accreditation is recognized globally as a mark of high-quality continuing education and training.

Free Access

As a student of OSH Center, you receive complimentary access to all course materials, including knowledge checks and learning activities. Documentation of your training—such as exam scores, certificates, and transcripts—can be obtained by purchasing a certificate package.

Important Information

Certificates for individual HAZWOPER courses cannot be purchased separately. To receive certification for the HAZWOPER modules, you must purchase the complete 40-hour HAZWOPER program package.
