Course Description

This course is an important first step towards certification as a forklift competent person. It covers the principles necessary to understand safe forklift operation, associated hazards, and injury prevention measures.

Important Information

To achieve full certification as a forklift competent person, the student must also demonstrate adequate skills and abilities in forklift operation, hazard identification, and corrective measures. The employer must also evaluate and formally certify that the student has adequate knowledge, skills, and abilities as a forklift competent person.

At the end of this course, you should be able to:

LO 1.6.1 Identify training requirements and discuss the steps in conducting on-the-job training (OJT).
