Hepatitis B (HBV) Immunization

Description

Getting Vaccinated

The most effective way to prevent Hepatitis B is through vaccination.

The Hepatitis B vaccine is one of the safest and most effective vaccines ever developed. Its safety and effectiveness have been confirmed through extensive studies by both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Employers are required to offer the Hepatitis B vaccination series to any employee at risk of occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). The employer must cover the cost of the vaccine and provide it before an employee begins tasks with potential exposure, at a reasonable time and location.
