Employer Responsibilities to Identify Jobs at Risk
Employers are required to identify job classifications where employees may have occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). They must also determine the specific tasks and procedures that could put employees at risk.
Additionally, employers must review these job classifications annually to ensure that appropriate procedures, controls, and training are in place to protect employees from exposure.
