The Importance of Preventing Heat-Related Illnesses
Heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke, pose serious health risks to workers. Symptoms can range from mild heat cramps to life-threatening heat stroke, which requires immediate treatment. From 2011 to 2021, there were 436 work-related deaths in the United States due to environmental heat exposure, with 36 deaths occurring in 2021 alone.
