Getting Vaccinated

The most effective way to prevent Hepatitis B (HBV) infection is through vaccination.

The Hepatitis B vaccine is considered one of the safest and most effective vaccines ever developed. Numerous studies by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have confirmed its safety and efficacy.

Since the introduction of the HBV vaccine in 1991, the rate of Hepatitis B infections has declined by approximately 82%.

Employee Rights and Employer Responsibilities:

  • You must be offered the Hepatitis B vaccination before performing any tasks that involve exposure to human blood or other potentially infectious materials.
  • Your employer is responsible for covering the full cost of the vaccination series.
