Employer Responsibilities to Identify Jobs at Risk
Employers are required to identify job classifications where employees may have occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. This includes identifying specific tasks and procedures that carry a risk of exposure.
Employers must review these job classifications at least annually to ensure that proper procedures, controls, and training are in place to protect employees from exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
